Founded by Hajime Asaoka, a celebrated self-taught watchmaker, Kurono Tokyo emerged in 2018 with a mission to make high-quality, design-focused watches more accessible. Asaoka, who had spent over a decade crafting ultra-exclusive handmade timepieces, decided to create Kurono to share his expertise with a broader audience. Initially launched as Chrono Tokyo for the Japanese market, the brand quickly gained international acclaim for its unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design.
